I wholeheartedly agree on the over-commercialization of Christmas, and the secular songs are pretty vapid, but I like the Christian noels. My pet peeves? "Holiday greetings, Happy Holidays, Merry X-mas", and the like. We've become too afraid to out and out declare the joy of the birth of our Savior for fear of "offending" someone. No one seems to be concerned that they are offending us, but Christians are fair game, I guess.

I have a greeting that I think is fun. I like to say, "'Merry Christmas', and just for fun, a hearty 'Bah, Humbug!'" People seem to get a kick out of the satirical use of "Bah, Humbug".

Look up Tom Lehrer, a Christmas Carol on Youtube. He makes a great commentary in song.

I'm a Christian, who is also a "viper". My internet handle is "Crotalus". I take it in reference to the "Don't Tread on Me" flags.Crotalus (Dont Tread on Me)noreply@blogger.com
